    Detailed Guide on How to React an Instagram Messages

    Did your friend send you a hilarious text or a post on your dm? You would want to react to that but don’t know how?

    If you have updated to the latest version of the app , you can integrated your Instagram with Messenger. With this, you can use any emoji to react to a message.

    Instagram lets you do more than just reacting to the message.  You could also customize your emoji reaction bar with the 100+ emoji option to select from. There is even an option to add multiply effect on them. If you want to know how to do that, please keep reading the article. 

    How to React to Instagram Messages?

    On Instagram, you have access to six preset emoji reactions that you can use to respond to messages. But the option is not limited to that.

    Using Default Emoji

    You can react to a message by using the default emoji by following the steps below.

    1. Open Instagram 
    2. Tap on the Message icon at the right corner of your screen.

    3. Open the Chat Conversation you want to react to.

    4. Tap and hold on to a Message until you see an emoji bar.

    5. Press on the Emoji to react.

    Using Other Emojis

    Reaction emojis aren’t limited to the default ones. You can also use other emojis to react to messages. Refer to the steps below to use other emojis to react to Instagram messages.

    1. Launch Instagram
    2. Press on the Message icon.

    3. Go to the Chat conversation.

    4. Press and hold the Message you want to react to.
    5. Tap on the Plus icon.

    6. Choose emoji of your liking.

    How to Multiply Emoji Reaction in DMs?

    On Instagram, users also have the option to add a motion-like effect to the emoji reactions. It gives your response a unique touch, making it more interesting.

    1. Open Instagram 
    2. Press on the Message icon.

    3. Go to the Chat conversation.

    How to Customize Emojis on Instagram?

    Instagram allows you to modify the emojis and emoji bar to your liking. The default emojis setting is helpful, but if you find yourself reaching for a different emotion more frequently, you can set your preferred emoji as the default. To know more about this, please keep on reading.

    Customize Emoji Reaction Bar in Messages

    Six emojis: Heart, Laughing, Wow, Crying, Angry and Like are available by default in Instagram’s Emoji bar. The emoji bar can be customized to include the reaction emoji of your choice.

    1. Go to Instagram
    2. Tap on the Message icon.

    3. Select a Chat conversation.

    4. Tap and hold the Message.
    5. Press on the Plus icon.

    6. Go to the Customize option.

    7. Tap on the Emoji you want to remove.

    8. Press on the Emoji you want to add.
    9. Now, tap on the Tick icon.

    Change Default Heart Emoji

    In Instagram messages, the first emoji shown in the emoji bar acts as the default reaction. The app automatically responds with a heart emoji when you double-tap a message.

    If you want to change the default emoji, follow the steps below.

    1. Open Instagram
    2. Swipe right to the Message icon.

    3. Go to a Message conversation.

    4. Press and hold the Message.
    5. Tap on the Plus icon.

    6. Press on Customize option.

    7. Tap first on the Heart emoji.

    8. Select the New emoji.
    9. Tap on the Tick icon.

    Change Emoji’s Skin Tone

    On Instagram, you can choose a certain skin tone colour for your reaction emojis. This applies to human emojis such as the arm, hand, and face emojis. The main purpose of this feature was to promote inclusion and give users a choice to choose the skin tones of their emojis.

    1. Launch Instagram 
    2. Swipe right to the Message section.
    3. Go to a Message conversation.

    4. Press and hold the Message you want to react to.
    5. Tap on the Plus icon.
      Tap-on-the-Plus-icon
    6. Press and hold any Hand gestures or People emoji.
    7. Select and tap on the Skin Tone.

    8. Then Tap on Tick to confirm.
