    How to Print an Envelope in Word

    Microsoft Word gives you the option of creating and printing an envelope. You can use this feature to design your own envelope. This feature can also be helpful if you want to add a more professional touch to your envelopes. 

    You can print an envelope in any size you want along with the option to print as many as you want at one time.

    Check Your Printing Options Beforehand

    Before you print an envelope, you should ensure that the print size matches your envelope size. You can check and change these settings by following these steps.

    1. Open Word.
    2. Go to the Mailings tab.
    3. Click on Envelopes.

    4. Press the Options button in the Envelopes tab.

    5. Under the Envelope Options tab, click on Size to reveal a drop-down menu.
    6. Select the size you want. You can also change the margins on the delivery address and return address under the Delivery address and Return address tabs.

    7. Go to the Printing Options tab.
    8. Select how you want the envelope to print from the Feed Method.

    9. Press the OK button.
    Note: The Feed Method tells you where on the paper it is going to print your envelope. This ensures that when you fold the paper to hold a letter, the addresses are going to be on the correct side of the envelope.

    Create and Print Envelope

    After setting up your printing options, you should move to create your envelope. To create an envelope, follow these steps.

    1. Open Word.
    2. Go to the Mailings tab.
    3. Click on Envelopes from the left corner.

    4. Type in the delivery address in the text box below the Delivery Address.
    5. Select the delivery address you typed in, right click and click on Font to change the font.

    6. Select the font you want and press the OK button. You can also change the style, size, color, and add effects for a unique personal touch. 
    7. Press the Print button.

    8. Give your file a name and press the Save button.

    You can also add a return address. Simply type in the address in the text box below the Return Address. 

    Additionally, if you want to create multiple envelopes at once, here’s how you can do it:

    1. Open Word.
    2. Go to the Mailings tab.
    3. Click on Envelopes.

    4. Enter the delivery address and the return address if you wish. 
    5. Click the Add to Document button.

    6. Go to the Layout tab.
    7. Click on Breaks.

    8. Click on Next Page.
    9. Now repeat steps 2 through 8 for the number of envelopes you need. Please note that in Step 5 you will get the Change Document button. 

    Print Envelope Through Templates

    You can use a pre-saved template or any template from the Internet to create another envelope. You need to sign in to your Microsoft Office account and be online. Then, you can follow these steps.

    1. Go to Word.
    2. Click on More templates on the Home page.

    3. Search for Envelopes in the search bar and hit Enter.
    4. Double-click on the template you want to open and make your edits.

    5. Go to File > Print.
    6. Click on Print and give your file a name. Press the Save button.

    Customizing Envelope

    Here’re a few things you can perform to customize your Envelope:

    Adding Electronic Postage 

    You can add electronic postage to your envelope using the electronic postage program. You need to pay for this service. It is also only available in selected countries. You need to install the program from Microsoft’s website. Then, you can follow these steps.

    1. In the Envelopes and Labels dialogue box, click the E-Postage Properties button.

    2. Select the options you want.
    3. Check the box for Add electronic postage. 
    4. Press the Print button. 

    Save Envelope for Later

    You can also save an envelope to reuse it. You first need to create an envelope by following the steps mentioned above. After that, follow these steps.

    1. Click on the Add to Document button in the Envelopes and Labels dialogue box.

    2. Go to File.
    3. Select Save As.

    4. Browse for a place to store this file and give your document a name.
    5. Click on Save.
