How to Change Home Address on Google Maps

Google Maps allows you to set up and store your home address. Storing your home address can help you find your directions back home from any place quicker since you do not have to enter the address every time you travel.

After storing this address, you still have the option to update it when needed. This article discusses the ways you can do this.  

Through Settings

If you go to the Setting on Google Maps, you can find the home or work address that you saved. Then you can edit it. However, you must be logged in to your account before changing your home address.

On Android

1. Go to Google Maps.
2. Click on your profile at the top right corner. 
3. Go to Settings.
   
4. Go to Edit home or work.
   
5. Click on the three vertical dots next to your address and select Edit Home. 
   
6. You can either type in the new address or select Choose on map and drag the pin to select the location.
   
7. Click on Save.

You can also change your home address by removing the old address.

1. Go to Google Maps and click on the profile.
2. Click on Settings.
   
3. Go to Edit home or work.
    
4. Click on the three vertical dots > Remove home. 
   
5. Select Home and type in your address. You can also select Use your current location to use that location as your home address. Alternatively, click on Choose on map and select your location with the pin. 
6. Click on Save. 
   

On iPhone

1. Go to the Google Maps app.
2. Click on your profile at the top right corner.
3. Go to Settings.
   
4. Click on Edit home or work.
5. Go to Labeled and Click on your home address.
   
6. You can either type in your new address or select Choose on map.

Alternatively, you can also remove your current address to change it.

1. Open Google Maps.
2. Go to your profile.
3. Click on Settings.
   
4. In Account Settings select Edit home or work.
   
5. Go to Labeled.
6. Click on the three dots next to your address and select Remove Home. 
   
7. Click on Home and enter your new address. You can also select Choose from Contacts or Choose on map and drag the pin to set your location.
   

Through Saved Tab

The Google Maps app has a Saved tab where it saves your home or work address. You can go to this tab to change that address. You can follow these steps both on your Android & iPhone.

1. Open the Google Maps app.
2. Click on Saved at the bottom of your screen.
3. Go to Labeled.
   
4. Click on the three dots next to your home address. 
5. Click on Edit home.
   
6. Remove and enter the new address. You can also search for your location on the map or drag the location pin.  
   

How to Change Home Address on Google Maps on PC?

To edit your home address on Google Maps, you need to follow these steps on your computer.

1. Go to Google Maps. 
2. Type Home in the search bar at the top left corner of the screen.
3. From the menu, click on Edit.
   
4. Enter the new address.
5. Press the Save button.
